Students in the Choir
“Les Cinq Cool”

At a recent rehearsal of The Master Choir Women’s Ensemble, a couple of our high school students stuck around to listen. We finished a very difficult section, and the director looked at them and asked: “Well, what do you think?” They gave a thumbs-up. “Yeah, THAT is cool, very cool; it rocks.”
Not to mention:
• being part of a choir in which young singers are introduced to rigorous repertoire and held to the same standards as older singers…
• that three younger singers have sung solos at Master Choir concerts...
• that one young singer was a finalist in the 2011 Ocala Symphony Orchestra’s Young
Artist Competition...
• that one young singer has a regular jazz/standards gig with another member...
• that singing with the Master Choir supports their high school musical endeavors…
• that students receive letters of endorsement and recommendation towards future academic pursuits...
• and not to mention that they receive scholarships, which pay for their membership, music and a theory course…
